So…. Last Saturday the Wellgosh boys threw one of their infamous parties. I attended. It was BIG fun.
Robot Disaster started us off with some angular indie electro music. I’ve never heard of them, so it was the first time I caught a glimpse of what they were about. I was quite impressed, Music was Cool, Heads were Boppin and the floor was Bouncing!
Promoting their new single ‘GUITARS ARE OVERRATED’
This fast rising, charismatic, young band sound like the product of a million of the world’s coolest parties thrown together to create something rough, exciting and very special. Their debut release is already receiving support from Radio One DJ Kissy Sell Out as well as Tom Robinson on 6music’s ‘BBC introducing…’show and having shared stages with the likes of Dan Le sac Vs Scroobius pip, Late of The Pier, Kosheen and Dirty Pretty Things, these five talented individuals are without doubt ones to keep a careful eye on in 2009.
‘Guitars Are Overrated’ combines venomous lyrics and a killer hook with a ritous concord of synths, disco drum beats and punchy bass to form the perfect soundtrack for manic house parties, sweaty raves and the very best indie discos.
2am Anyway once the boys had finished the Wellgosh boys conducted their famous raffle and free giveaways down in the basement! Peter Carvell (Gash DJs) was also in the building, the crowd were hyped, the basement was dirty, it was fuckin mental I loved it!
From 2.30am there was some serious tunage on the go, heavy bassline all night = pure bliss sweeeeeeeet.
