SPICE OF FUCKIN INDIA

Just a quick one really, to let you all know not to EVER eat in the Spice of India restaurant based in Syston town, Leicester (if your ever around and looking for an Indian)!! I went there last night on a dinner date with a dear friend and I can not stress how disappointed I was.

Here is a quick summery of what I had experienced:

  1. 9.30pm table was booked, we were not seated till 9.50pm

  2. When asked for a drink, we were ignored

  3. 10.05pm a waiter finally turns up take our order

  4. Starter arrives at 10.15pm. We ordered a mix grill sizzler. A sizzler is to arrive sizzling and hot, in this case we had a quite cold sizzler, which was not so great in taste.

  5. 10.30pm advise waiter sizzler is cold and not willing to pay for it.

  6. Mains then arrive shortly after

  7. The Nan, rice and lamb karaih is fine, the Punjabi king prawns tasted OK but then I find hair stuck to a prawn. ( 10.45pm really fucking angry at this point) I complain and advise the waiter that this is just not on; we have had cold starters and now hair in our food.

  8. Waiter apologises and takes my prawns, comes back in around 5 minutes swop's the prawn I had originally and advises me it’s not a hair it’s a vein. Comparing it with a raw prawn, Now this fool is accusing me of being blind WTF!! You can imagine I’m really hungry and this shit service is really taking its toll at this point.

  9. 11pm we have made our way to door, I can’t be bothered anymore my appetite was gone, fuckin ass wipes.

  10. The manager comes and talks to us, does not even apologise! I look at the bill he has still charged us for the cold sizzler I’m kicking off. After 10mins of trying to make the prick understand my sentiments, we just pay and walk out.
  11. I really didn’t want to pay and if I had my own way I would have not given them a penny. But my dear friend just paid. Bullshit really.

After the traumatic experience we found ourselves in a lovely Turkish restaurant down the road called Mangal. If only we had this placed booked in the first place! Anyway the food was much nicer and the service was fantastic. Upon leaving I even got a free box of luxury truffles, sweeeeeeeeet.

“Interesting Valentines Day…Always a story to tell”
